Tonight, we bid farewell to Betty Magnus, who has served on our board of trustees since 2019. Through COVID, construction, a massive RFID tagging project, the addition of a drive-through window, the development of Discovery PLAYce, more construction, the installation of bin shelving, the creation of strategic plans, and more, she has been a constant gleam of shining positivity. Thank you, Betty, for your years of service to BPL. You have positively impacted our organization and our lives. 🧡💚🩵

🚨𝗡𝗲𝘄 𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝗮𝗹𝗲𝗿𝘁! Beloit Art Center installed a new show in our gallery this week that we are sure you will love. Next time you're in the library, be sure to check out these works by Karen Arthurs, a contemporary mixed media artist from Rockford.

Strap on your walking shoes and join us every other week for Mindful Mile(s)–A Walking Group. We depart from the library lobby at 9:00am and hit the walking trail along the river for a leisurely stroll. We're back to the library by 11:00am, perfect timing to grab a refreshing drink from Blender Cafe. The next meet-up is Monday, June 15.

Community Impact in Action | 2026 Spotlight Series

We’re pleased to support the Beloit Public Library Foundation with a $2,000 Community Impact grant for their Civics Academy series. 🏛️

The Civics Academy is a monthly lunch-and-learn series that helps residents better understand topics like public finance, city services, education, housing, and economic development. By making civic education accessible and engaging, the program empowers community members to stay informed and take an active role in shaping Beloit’s future!

Thanks to this grant, the series is also able to provide lunches for attendees – removing barriers and helping more people participate in these important conversations.

We’re honored to support programs that strengthen civic engagement and connection across our community!
