What an incredible afternoon at last Fridayโ€™s Womenโ€™s Fund Spring Luncheon, held at Blackhawk Technical College!

This yearโ€™s theme, โ€œShattering Expectations: Women in Leadership,โ€ brought together nearly 200 community members in support of women and girls across our region. We are so grateful to everyone who made this event such a success.

A heartfelt thank you to our generous donors and sponsors whose support makes this work possible, as well as our dedicated board members and planning team for their time, energy, and commitment. And thank you to all who attended and helped create such an inspiring and meaningful afternoon.

The panel conversation sparked powerful reflection on leadership, resilience, and the importance of creating space for the next generation of women leaders. We are leaving even more energized for the work ahead.

Together, we are helping build a future where every woman has the opportunity to thrive. Because when women thrive, communities prosper. ๐Ÿ’œ

Community members, local leaders, and supporters gathered at Blackhawk Technical College to celebrate the impact of programs that empower women and girls throughout the Stateline region.

This weekโ€™s staff spotlight: Destiny Howell, Accountant

โžก๏ธ What inspired Destiny to work in community philanthropy?
Nonprofit work wasnโ€™t originally part of Destinyโ€™s plan, but she quickly discovered how meaningful it is to support causes, families, and organizations making a difference throughout the Stateline.

โžก๏ธ What she enjoys most about serving the Stateline community:
Destiny loves seeing the community come together to support one another. Even working behind the scenes, she finds it inspiring to be part of efforts that help local families and organizations thrive.

โžก๏ธ A moment in her role that has stuck with her:
During the Foundationโ€™s GivingTuesday Drive, Destiny was amazed by the generosity shown across the community. Watching people come together to provide essentials for families was a powerful reminder of the kindness and compassion that make the Stateline so special.

โžก๏ธ Something people may not know about Destiny:
Sheโ€™s a busy mom of three boys, which means life outside of work is always full of energy, adventure, and laughter!

โžก๏ธ Favorite local spot in the Stateline:
With three boys, Destiny loves exploring local family-friendly spots where they can have fun, make memories, and enjoy everything the community has to offer together. โค๏ธ

๐Ÿ“ฃ Professional Advisors: New Giving Strategies

Many clients are just now learning about the tax law changes under the One Big Beautiful Bill Act โ€“ making now an important time to revisit planning conversations.

Starting in 2026, charitable deductions will only apply once giving exceeds 0.5% of AGI. For some clients, โ€œbunchingโ€ gifts through a donor-advised fund may help maximize tax benefits and charitable impact.

Now is a great time to review giving strategies with your clients.
