🌈 Happy Pride Month from Family Promise of Greater Beloit! 🌈

At Family Promise of Greater Beloit, we believe that every person deserves dignity, respect, safety, and a place to call home.

This Pride Month, we celebrate the strength, resilience, and contributions of LGBTQ+ individuals and families in our community. We are proud to stand alongside people from all backgrounds, identities, and experiences as we work toward a future where everyone feels welcomed, valued, and supported.

Our commitment to serving families is rooted in the belief that diversity makes our community stronger. We remain dedicated to creating an environment where all people are treated with compassion, equity, and respect.

Together, we can build a community where everyone belongs.

Sometimes what seems like a small thing can make a world of difference to someone else.

This week, a mom in our shelter program shared that she needed a bicycle to get to work. Without one, she would have had to walk more than an hour each way to get there. Our Case Manager connected her with a local bike shop that generously provides free bikes to individuals in need.

Within just a few hours, she had a bike of her own and now has dependable transportation to get to and from work, making her daily commute much more manageable.

At Family Promise of Greater Beloit, we know that every family's journey is different. Whether the need is large or small, we are committed to connecting families with the resources and support they need to move forward.

We are grateful for community partners who help make stories like this possible and for the opportunity to serve families in meaningful ways every day.

Because sometimes a bike isn't just a bike—it's opportunity, independence, and hope.

Tomorrow is a day worth celebrating for one of our shelter guest!

After months of determination, persistence, and hard work, she will be signing her lease and receiving the keys to her very own home.

Her journey hasn't always been easy, but she never gave up. Through every health challenge, she remained focused on her primary goal, and tomorrow that goal becomes reality.

We are incredibly proud of all she has accomplished and honored to have been part of her journey. As she begins this exciting new chapter, we wish her happiness, stability, and success in her new apartment.

Please join us in congratulating her on this amazing milestone!

🏡 June is National Homeownership Month! 🏡

National Homeownership Month celebrates the value that owning a home brings to families, communities, and neighborhoods across America.

At Family Promise, we recognize that not everyone who comes through our shelter doors will leave as a homeowner. However, we are committed to encouraging and supporting homeownership whenever possible, helping families build stability and achieve their dreams.

Today, we celebrate all of our guests who aspire to own a home of their own. Your determination inspires us, and we are honored to be part of your journey.

Here's to turning dreams into addresses and goals into reality. May you be successful in your quest for homeownership!

❤️ Happy National Homeownership Month! ❤️

Family Promise of Greater Beloit had the pleasure of attending the Stateline Community Foundation Women’s Fund Luncheon, Shattering Expectations – Women in Leadership, held at Blackhawk Technical College.

It was an inspiring afternoon filled with meaningful conversation, insight, and leadership perspectives from an outstanding panel featuring Dr. Melissa Amberger of Beloit Health System, Tanya Faber of Corporate Contractors, Inc., Pastor Kenda Roma of Covenant Care Counseling Center, and Schonella Stewart, Chief of Police for the City of Beloit.

At Family Promise, our work supporting families experiencing homelessness is strengthened through leadership, collaboration, and community partnerships. Events like these provide valuable opportunities to learn from leaders across healthcare, business, counseling, public safety, and nonprofit spaces — all sectors that play an important role in building stronger, healthier communities.

We appreciated the opportunity to connect, learn, and reflect on how leadership and collaboration help create pathways toward stability and hope for the families we serve.

Thank you to the Stateline Community Foundation Women’s Fund and Blackhawk Technical College for hosting such a meaningful event!

🎥 Community partnerships make our work possible!

Yesterday, local media joined us at Family Promise of Greater Beloit for a special check presentation from First Baptist Church of Beloit, WI, who generously donated $1,200 to support families experiencing homelessness in our community.

We were also grateful to receive complimentary catering from Truk’t, whose generosity helped make the event even more special. Thank you for supporting our mission and our community! ❤️

At Family Promise, we provide more than shelter — we provide support, stability, and pathways toward lasting change for families with children facing housing insecurity.

Thank you to our community partners who believe in the families we serve and invest in hope, dignity, and brighter futures.

Want to learn more about our work, schedule a tour, volunteer, partner with us, or support our mission? We’d love to connect. Check us out and see how you can be part of the solution.

🇺🇸 Happy Memorial Day 🇺🇸

Today, we honor and remember the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice while serving in the United States Armed Forces. Their courage, dedication, and selflessness will never be forgotten.

We are forever grateful for those who gave their lives for our freedom. May we take a moment today to reflect, remember, and honor their legacy.

May is Mental Health Awareness Month.

At Family Promise of Greater Beloit, we serve a small percentage of guests who experience mental health challenges. While mental health services are not our primary focus, understanding these challenges is an important part of how we compassionately support the families and individuals we encounter.

This month, we recognize not only the importance of mental health awareness, but also the continued efforts of our staff, volunteers, partners, and supporters who help make a difference every day.

Together, we can create a stronger, more compassionate community for those facing mental health challenges.

A new little one has joined our program this week, and we’re reaching out to our amazing community for help.

At Family Promise of Greater Beloit, the safety and comfort of children always come first. We are currently in need of a crib or bassinet for an infant staying with us. We are grateful to accept either a new or gently used item to help ensure this baby has a safe place to sleep each night.
