Hard to believe I have yet more sad news to share. This morning Officer Dan Daly of the Beloit Police Department passed away due to complications from COVID-19. Dan was well loved in Beloit and the stateline area. He served the community with compassion and integrity for over 24 years. As you can see from the genuine smile in this photo, Dan truly enjoyed his job and was proud to be a police officer. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Dan's family and friends today and in the days to come.

As a sidenote, three public safety deaths in less than a week is unprecedented in our county. So please show some extra support and kindness if you see any responders out and about. While it was three different departments, we all support and care for each other like we are family. So as you can imagine it has been a very difficult few days for all of us.💙💛❤️

Another sad day in Rock County as we say goodbye to another faithful public servant. Prayers to the family and friends of Firefighter Chris Augustin of the Evansville Fire Department. Chris was well known in the Evansville community and was a friend to many. It takes a special person to be a volunteer, especially these days, so his dedication and service will surely be missed! Take care Evansville & to our partners in law, fire & EMS - take care of yourselves too!! 🖤❤️💛🖤

On behalf of the Rock County 911 Center, we wish to offer our most sincere condolences to our brothers & sisters at the Rock County Sheriff's Office on the unexpected loss of their friend and co-worker, Deputy Brad Kaderly. He had a special place in the hearts of many at 911 often stopping in and saying hi to everyone, bringing treats and just being an all around great guy. We’re so sorry and sad that we won’t see him again and wish the Sheriff’s office staff and Brad’s family peace and comfort during this painful time. He was loved and appreciated & will be missed by many. 🖤💙💛🖤

The Town of Beloit Fire Department Youth Explorer Program is looking for high school aged students with an interest in exploring a career in the fire service. An explorer program is a great opportunity to gain an understanding of what it means to be a firefighter/paramedic and whether or not a career in the fire service is right for you. This program will offer hands on training conducted by professional firefighters as well as guidance in making decisions about your future in the fire service. If you or someone you know is interested in becoming a youth explorer or has any questions please contact us by messaging our Youth Explorer page or by emailing [email protected].
