Thank you to anyone who supported our Lil’ Red Schoolhouse Storytelling Nights this summer! We will have one more open house next Wednesday from 4-6 then the schoolhouse will be closed for the winter, besides private events.

Old Honey Creek School near Beloit, Kansas was destroyed by a fire in 1942 but was rebuilt on the same foundation and remained in operation until 1961. It was moved to this location in the roadside park on Kansas highways 24 and 9 in 1970.

Thank you to those that came to our Storytelling Night at the Lil' Red Schoolhouse last night! And a special thanks to Lucille Heller and Phyllis Shurts who spoke about school life over 100 years ago! We even got a traditional sack lunch thanks to Mary Jane Chapman!

Our next and last Storytelling Night of this summer will be Wednesday, August 26 at 6 pm with Steve Richardson, who will talk about the all-women group who built the Cawker City Museum and the beginnings of Cawker City! Free for all and refreshments will be served!
