The Beloit Police Department is proud to announce that we have received a generous $4,000 grant from the Solomon Valley Community Foundation in support of our UAS Drone Program.

We sincerely thank the Solomon Valley Community Foundation for its continued commitment to our community and for the time and effort dedicated to helping us secure this funding. Support like this plays an important role in bringing valuable resources to our local first responders.

With this funding secured, we will now move forward with our remaining grant request through the Dane G. Hansen Foundation.

Our goal is to establish a professional drone program that will serve the City of Beloit and provide an additional resource for Mitchell County and our surrounding area. The program will support law enforcement operations, search and rescue efforts, emergency response, severe weather and disaster assessment, and other public safety needs.

We are grateful for the organizations investing in our community and helping us move this project forward. We look forward to what this program will bring to Beloit, Mitchell County, and the people we serve.

During its fall grant cycle, the Solomon Valley Community Foundation awarded over $39,000 in grants to 14 projects throughout Mitchell County. The following organizations received funding:

For Immediate Release

On Friday, August 14, 2026, officers with the Beloit Police Department responded to a motor vehicle accident on U.S. Highway 24 near the Wellness Center in Beloit.

While investigating the accident, officers and deputies developed probable cause that led to the arrest of David Goth of Beloit for Criminal Possession of a Weapon by a convicted felon and a probation violation.

As the investigation continued, law enforcement obtained additional information that provided the basis for an application for a search warrant for Goth’s residence. During the early evening hours, the search warrant application was reviewed and granted by the court.

Officers with the Beloit Police Department, assisted by Deputies from the Mitchell County Sheriff’s Office, executed the search warrant. During the search, law enforcement located and seized several items of evidence believed to be unlawfully possessed.

The investigation remains ongoing. Additional charges will be forwarded to the Mitchell County Attorney’s Office for review and consideration.

The Beloit Police Department appreciates the assistance of the Mitchell County Sheriff’s Office during this investigation.

All persons accused of a crime are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.

The Beloit Police Department had the pleasure of participating in the Back to School Bash at Hilltop Lodge. It was a great afternoon spent visiting with families, and helping everyone get excited for the upcoming school year.

We would like to extend our sincere thanks to Hilltop Lodge for the invitation and for hosting the community event. Opportunities like this make Beloit such a great place to live and work.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by to say hello. We enjoyed spending time with each of you and look forward to being part of this great event again next year.

Please join us in congratulating Lieutenant Ashley Todd on her well-earned promotion within the Beloit Police Department.

Ashley has consistently demonstrated professionalism, sound judgment, and a commitment to serving the Beloit community. Her leadership, dedication to her fellow officers, and commitment to public safety have earned the respect of those who work alongside her every day.

As Lieutenant, Ashley will take on expanded leadership responsibilities, including supervising five patrol officers, providing daily operational oversight, mentoring and developing personnel, coordinating patrol and helping guide the department’s mission of delivering professional, responsive service to our community.

This promotion reflects Ashley’s hard work, experience, and commitment to excellence. We are confident she will continue to lead with integrity, professionalism, and dedication.
