The City of Belpre would like to thank all the first responders from Belpre, Little Hocking, Dunham and Warren volunteer fire departments for their outstanding work today during a devastating explosion. We are fortunate no injuries occurred.

We also appreciate the support of City of Belpre EMS, the Belpre Police Dept, Washington Co Sheriffs Office, and the Ohio State Patrol. The Marietta Memorial Hospital ER for their preparation in case of potential injury and WVU medicine for providing additional coverage for other emergencies during this time.

Thank you to the other local Mayors for reaching out offering support for any other needs and all the citizens dropping off food for the fire fighters.

It’s incredible seeing such team work, collaboration and caring by our community. Thank you again. We truly appreciate everyone. I am sorry if I missed anyone.

We ask that the public avoid 5th Street and the location of yesterday's fire. The occupants are attempting to retrieve property and we ask that the public respect their privacy during this difficult time. 5th street is a one way dead end street and the last thing the residents of the street need is a bunch of non residents traveling the neighborhood.
