The Bell County Fire Marshal’s Office is currently investigating an Arson that occured on 6-11-2025 at 6:30pm at 419 NW Front St.
This was a vacant church building that was on the end of the road next to the train tracks. It's been closed down since 2019 and there were no persons injured. This fire could have spread to the nearby homes if it hadn't been for the fire departments that responded to get it under control. This is still an active crime scene and no persons should be on the property.
Any other witnesses to this fire that I did not get a chance to speak with tonight, are encouraged to come forward if you have any information on the suspect who started the fire.

This is the 3rd questionable Fire in your area within the last two months. Citizens are also encouraged to stay alert to any suspicious activity and report anything suspicious you see to the police.

Attention Store Owners in all cities of Bell County. The game machine in the photo is what's called a fish table machine. This is not considered 1 game under the game room regulations. It's got 4 stations and its considered 4 games.
Today a Temple Thrift store location was shut down because it was operating an illegal Game Room with 8 machines seperate from its thrift store and advertising as a game room which is also illegal. There were 10 listed Fire Code violations found in the building as well. The owner has been very cooperative and is going to be correcting these violations to ensure its safe for the citizens again before reopening.

I advise everyone to check your individual burn piles to ensure you do not have anything in them that will be considered prohibited materials once the ban is lifted. All smoke seen that is black in color will be investigated upon being called in, and persons responsible will be charged and or arrested. Follow all TCEQ guidelines on outdoor burning and Stay Safe!
