Happy Birthday to the one and only Super Stud Chris Stewart! 🎉🚒

From all your brothers at the ROCK SPRINGS FIRE DEPARTMENT — we see you, we appreciate you, and we’re thankful for you. You’re always the guy who answers up, shows up, and does the work without making a big deal about it. Humble, dependable, and always willing to help — that’s the Chris Stewart standard.

You make this department better just by being part of it. Hope you have a day full of good food, laughs, and maybe a break from the tones (at least for a few hours 😆).

Much respect, brother. We’re proud to serve with you. 🔥💪

❄️ Winter Weather Safety Tips
From the Rock Springs Fire Department

As snow and icy conditions impact our area, please keep these safety reminders in mind to protect yourself, your family, and our community:

🚗 Travel Safety
• Stay off the roads unless absolutely necessary.
• Slow down and increase following distance—bridges and overpasses freeze first.
• Keep an emergency kit in your vehicle (blanket, flashlight, water, snacks, phone charger).
• If you skid, ease off the gas and steer gently in the direction you want the vehicle to go.

🏠 Home Heating & Fire Safety
• Use space heaters safely: keep at least 3 feet away from anything that can burn.
• Never use grills, generators, or fuel-burning devices indoors or in garages.
• Ensure smoke alarms and carbon monoxide detectors are working.
• Keep fireplaces attended and extinguish embers completely.

⚡ Power Outages
• Have flashlights ready—avoid candles if possible.
• If using a generator, operate it outdoors only, away from windows and doors.
• Unplug sensitive electronics to prevent surge damage when power returns.

❄️ Cold Exposure & Fall Prevention
• Dress in layers; limit time outdoors.
• Watch for black ice on steps, sidewalks, and driveways.
• Use handrails and wear shoes with good traction.
• Check on elderly neighbors or those with limited mobility.

🐾 Pets & Livestock
• Bring pets indoors or ensure they have warm, dry shelter.
• Check water sources to ensure they are not frozen.
• Wipe pets’ paws after being outside to remove ice and salt.

📞 Emergency Reminders
• Call 911 for emergencies only.
• For non-emergency assistance, use the appropriate local non-emergency number.
• Stay informed through local weather updates and official alerts.

Please stay safe, stay warm, and look out for one another.

Wednesday evening, December 17, 2025, the Rock Springs Fire Department hosted our annual Christmas Supper, and it was a truly wonderful night of food, fellowship, and gratitude. We gathered not only to celebrate the season, but to honor the men who selflessly give their time, energy, and hearts in service to our community.

The gifts presented are merely a small token of appreciation for a debt of gratitude that can never truly be repaid. As the years pass and donation season comes around, may we always rememberthis department runs mostly, on donations, show them love, and support them in the spirit of Christmas and beyond.

This evening also gave us the opportunity to recognize those whose dedication and service stood out this year.

Firefighter of the Year – Mr. Justin Manley
Justin has proudly served in the Anderson County Fire Service for 25 years. He is a man of unwavering integrity, strong moral character, and quiet leadership. His dedication to service and commitment to excellence exemplify what it means to be a firefighter, and we are incredibly proud to have him on our team.

Junior Firefighter of the Year – Mr. Tyson Finley
Tyson has been serving Anderson County for one year, and in that short time, he has demonstrated remarkable promise. He brings a can-do attitude, an unmatched sense of urgency, and a genuine eagerness to learn and be mentored—qualities that are increasingly rare and deeply valued. Tyson is a respectful and driven young man, and we are excited to watch his growth and accomplishments in the years ahead.

Years of Service Awards

• Mr. Drew Bass and Mr. Ron Smith – 40 years of volunteer fire service to Anderson County
• Mr. Jack Sorrells – 35 years of volunteer fire service to Anderson County
• Mr. Justin Manley and Mr. Ryne Cooley – 25 years of volunteer fire service to Anderson County
• Mr. Eric Kelly, Mr. Chris Stewart, and Mr. Brad Finley – 20 years of volunteer fire service to Anderson County
• Mr. Tucker Powell and Mr. Cody Lollis – 5 years of volunteer fire service to Anderson County

As the years come and go and these awards are presented, it is important to pause and reflect on what they truly represent. These men are bold, brave, and selfless. They possess servant hearts. While we all hope that tragedy never strikes our own families, there is great comfort in knowing that if it does, these men will respond with steadfast resolve to keep our community safe and out of harm’s way.

We would also like to extend our sincere and heartfelt gratitude to our Board of Directors for their continued support and leadership.

A special thank you to our District Fire Commissioner, Mr. Chris Branyon. Thank you, sir, for advocating for our department, investing your time and energy into Anderson County Fire Service, and championing the needs of the stations within your district. Your dedication, support, and leadership do not go unnoticed, and we are truly grateful.

If there have been any omissions, it was completely oversight and the fault is all mine. Please bring it to my attention, and I will rectify it promptly.

From our fire family to our community — thank you for standing behind these men who stand ready for you.

God bless & Merry Christmas y’all!
