Our worst kept secret is officially official!

Nearly 3 years ago Boardmembers discussed the potential of hosting a railroad community event and we're finally making it happen. Join us for food trucks, touch-a-truck, model trains, kids crafts, petting goats, wooden train sets, a plaque ceremony, and of course, train rides.

With great sadness, the Belton Missouri Historical Railroad Board is announcing the resignation of Board Member Richard “Dick” Bell.

Dick Bell peacefully passed away on July 31st, 2026. Dick had been involved with the railroad for decades and served numerous roles. He worked on the train and railyard as a mechanic, taught and held engineer and conductor safety training, previously served as the Board President, engineered a countless number of rides, and acted as an occasional historian. Whenever there was a need at the railyard he could be counted on to be there, even as his health declined. His presence is already greatly missed.

In honor of Dick’s commitment to the Railroad, he will be honored with a plaque at the railyard with a presentation being announced later. His obituary can be found here: https://tinyurl.com/4ajckpxv

Please help us in saying thank you to Dick and honoring his legacy.
