Busy weekend for the Belton Fire Department. Friday caused a significant storm response from our Fire Department. We were assisted by multiple agencies to include the Belton Missouri Police Department,Cass County Sheriffs Office, Belton Emergency Managemnent, Belton Public Works, South Metro Fire District, and numerous other agencies and volunteers.

The storm response made for a very busy evening Friday and Saturday morning. Along with still assisting with storm damage response and assessment, we threw in a regular call load and a small structure fire response in the area of Ranchero and Westover. This fire was a room and contents fire which was brought under control quickly with no injuries.

Sunday, people are still cleaning up. Watching the response from neighbors and residents helping each other has been humbling. This is what community means. Thanks to all those that donated or assisted with our residents, thanks for those that helped organize these groups and thank you to the residents of Belton for allowing us to serve you in your time of need.

With the recent storms, please use generators safely. Be aware of electrical hazards and unsafe storm debris.
