People wonder why it’s so difficult to track legislation in Springfield. Here are two bills that passed yesterday and to the public are very misleading:

HB1441, which was displayed on the board as “Chicago Lifeguard Age Minimum.” However, the bill had been amended and contained provisions extending TIF districts.

HB3595 publicly stated it was a bill dealing with pet insurance - however, the bill actually set up a whole new agency to regulate Day Cares in Illinois

Whether you support or oppose these policies, the process makes it difficult for the public to know what lawmakers are actually voting on.

Mark your calendars for our monthly meeting.

This post is exactly why people are losing trust in politics and media.

Governor Pritzker and Illinois Democrats have passed plenty of bad bills that deserve criticism. We do not need to exaggerate or misrepresent legislation to make the case.

HB4948 does NOT say that people with “two speeding tickets” will be forced to install a tracking device in their car.

The bill applies to people convicted of two or more reckless driving offenses within one year. Instead of automatically losing their license, a court may allow them to voluntarily install a speed-limiting device during probation, at their own expense.

There is no tracking provision in the bill.

You can still oppose the policy. But we should all be arguing from the same facts.

Illinois Senate Democrats are proposing SB2873, a government-run universal healthcare system that would cover all Illinois residents, including undocumented immigrants, while restricting private insurance options.

Illinoisans deserve affordable healthcare — and they deserve choices too.

Do you support replacing private health insurance with a taxpayer-funded government-run healthcare system in Illinois?

Thursday evening, the Boone County Republican Central Committee and Boone County Republican Club proudly presented the 2026 scholarship awards to Brayden Lewis of Belvidere North High School and Paul Stark of Belvidere High School, each receiving a $500 scholarship.

What made the evening even more special was that the presenter was last year’s Belvidere North scholarship recipient. It’s inspiring to see young people staying involved, giving back, and continuing to lead by example. The future is bright when the next generation steps up to serve their communities and support one another.

We wish Brayden and Paul success in the next chapter of their journey.
