Greetings everyone,

My name is Rodney Riley, and I am running for reelection to the Boone County Board, District #3.

My wife, Josie, and I have proudly called Belvidere home for over 35 years. We raised our family here, and Boone County is not just where we live — it’s our home.

Over the past five years serving on the County Board, including two years as Chairman, we have faced significant challenges, but we have also achieved meaningful successes. These include the development of the Boone County Sheriff’s Department Training Center, as well as remodeling improvements to both the Courthouse and the Health Department — projects that strengthen public safety and improve services for our residents.

I believe I have represented the citizens of District 3 with integrity and respect, and I will continue to serve as a watchdog for your hard-earned tax dollars.

I will never vote to increase the salary of board members or chairman. Our first responsibility is to ensure a living wage for our county employees who work hard every day serving the people of Boone County.

I grew up on farmland in central Illinois, where I learned firsthand the values of hard work and responsibility and the challenges facing the American farmer. In 1987, I left the family farm to pursue a career in public service. I have proudly served in law enforcement for 39 years, and that experience has shaped my commitment to accountability, transparency, and community safety.

If reelected, I will continue working alongside my fellow Board members to move Boone County in a positive direction. I would be honored to earn your support.
