100 years and Mt Lake Fire Company has served the residents of Liberty for 76 of them. Come on up and visit your local volunteer firefighters. Try on gear, climb into the truck, maybe even join! The Ladies Auxiliary will be serving food and the fire company will be hosting the beer tent! A great night to spend time with family, friends and nieghbors!

A “Gold Star Parent” is someone who has lost a child in the line of duty while serving in the Armed Forces.
The Hackettstown Football Booster Club, spearheaded by Melissa Maney will be honoring the Gold Star Parents of Warren County
on September 18th, during their football game. Please help us spread the word so that all of or Warren County Gold Star families can

Over the next couple days heat wave warning is in effect in many parts of NJ, PA and NY. To stay safe, make sure you:

✅ Drink plenty of fluids and wear sunscreen
✅ Stay indoors during warmest hours, but monitor the temperature to make sure it doesn't get too hot. Check your local community's website and social media for cooling centres
✅ Check on your children, older family members and pets - don't leave people or pets unattended in vehicles
✅ Avoid tiring work or exercise if possible, and take plenty of breaks when working outdoors
✅ Wear lightweight, light-coloured and loose-fitting clothing, including a hat
✅ Contact a healthcare provider if you are feeling ill and your symptoms don't improve

If anyone needs a place to cool off over the next couple of days, please reach out. The Mt Lake Fire Company will gladly open the doors to allow you to come in and cool down. Our condolences to Charlie's family and the Independence Township Volunteer Fire Department. Charlie always attended our breakfasts and was never short on a good conversation! Rest In Peace Charlie, you will be missed!

It is with heavy hearts that the Independence Township Volunteer Fire Department announces the passing of life member Charles “Charlie” Barabas. Charlie was an active member of the department rarely missing meetings, serving on committees and was quick with a smile and a laugh, knowing him was knowing his pride in his country, community and the love of his life, his wife Sharon. He will be missed by everyone on the department and left us with too many fond memories to recall. Thank you for your service Charlie, we have it from here.
