Tonight we had 2 members work on their drafting and pumping techniques in order to get certified as drivers on our apparatus. Fire Fighter Barnes used Engine 21-61 (under the supervision of Past Chief Wolfinger) to draft out of the Delaware and supply water to Fire Fighter Gilmartin on Ladder 21-69 in order for him to flow water through the nozzle on the bucket. This allowed our Chief and Assistant Chief to sign off on them as certified drivers of the respective apparatus they were working on.

URGENT DUCK RACE UPDATE:
Due to the height of the Pequest, the safety of our members, and in accordance with NJ Game of Chance rules, we will NOT be putting the ducks in the water. All tickets will be added to a barrel and spun, and the winners will be pulled. This will occur at 1pm at Budd Jones Park.

2026 Duck Race update:

We are officially SOLD OUT of tickets! Thank you to everyone who purchased tickets and allowed us to sell all 2,500 tickets! Reminder that the race starts at 1p tomorrow and all are welcome to come to Budd Jones Park (across from Napa) to watch the ducks finish the race! We will make a post in the morning with approximately how long we expect the race to take once we have placed some testers in the water! 🦆

We are just one week away from race day! We are only about 100 tickets away from selling out (2,500 tickets!) so get your tickets before the big day! Tickets can still be purchased through members, at Market St Pharmacy, at Hillside Smokehouse, at Harper’s Grill, at Cellar Door and at George’s Place! We will also be selling tickets Tuesday night at National Night Out at the fire house!

Come out to Belvidere’s Street Festival today from 11a-4p and enjoy multiple food trucks, a beer garden and see what all our local shops have to offer! We are set up across the street from Uncle Bucks selling duck race tickets!

GWFC is still currently on scene of this incident. Thank you to Mountain Lake Fire Company- 72 Fire Oxford Volunteer Fire Department Belvidere Ambulance Corps, Inc. who responded in on initial dispatch as RIT 21 was on a structure fire in Washington Boro. Also thank you to Independence Township Volunteer Fire Department who has a crew standing by at our station to cover calls in Belvidere and Mountain Lake. Team work makes the dream work!
