At today’s Bemidji Rotary meeting, we welcomed Jamin Carlson, Planning Director for the City of Bemidji, who shared an exciting update on the City’s solar project. Through a collaborative effort involving the State of Minnesota’s Department of Commerce, federal funding and tax credits, Otter Tail Power, the City of Bemidji, and Wolf Track Energy, solar panels are being added to five city facilities:
☀️ Fire Station 2
☀️ Neilson Fieldhouse/Curling Club
☀️ Sanford Center
☀️ City Park Warming House
☀️ Water Treatment Facility
And the impact goes beyond clean energy—the five sites are expected to save the City approximately $24,000–$30,000 each year in energy costs! This is a great example of how partnerships, smart planning, and innovative thinking can make a difference right here in our community. 🌱
