The Bemidji Police Department serves the City of Bemidji with 33 sworn police officers and 5 civilian employees. We operate out of the Law Enforcement Center which is located on Minnesota Ave. The police department is staffed 24 hours a day and you can contact us at 218-333-9111.

Update: Kimball has been located

The Bemidji Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance in locating 16 year old Nikki Kimball. Nikki was last seen getting on the bus on 5/29/26. Nikki has red and black hair, is 5’01”, 107 lbs and also has gauges in her ears. Nikki has a scar on the bridge of her nose. She is wearing black Converse shoes and has a teal backpack.

Detective Moyer retires today!

Detective Randy Moyer began his law enforcement career in 1990 in Texas City, Texas attending the police academy. He worked 2 years as a Deputy Corrections Officer in Galveston County Texas. In 1994, he began work as a patrol officer with the Port Arthur Texas Police Department. He worked in the community policing and patrol divisions and worked with them for 13 years until 2007.
In 2008, he moved to Minnesota and took a position as a Beltrami County Communications Officer (dispatcher). He worked in this position for 4 months. He then took a position with the Bemidji Police Department as a patrol officer (2008). Detective Moyer was a fi****ms instructor and on the bike patrol team. He spent approximately 10 years as the School Resource Officer (SRO) for Bemidji High School.
In 2019, Officer Moyer became the Auto Theft Investigator for the police department and worked in that role until he was promoted to Detective in 2022.
We would like to thank Detective Moyer for his dedicated 36 years in law enforcement and especially the 18 years he spent with the Bemidji Police Department.

Tonight, Bemidji Middle School presented its 4A Awards to 8th grade students who earned the award for excellence in Academics, Attendance, Accelerated Reader, and Activities/Sports. Officer Riley (the SRO at the Middle School) and Chief Mastin spoke at the ceremony.
Our department is proud of each and every one of these upstanding 8th graders. May you continue to make the community proud! Congratulations!

UPDATE: LOCATED

The Bemidji Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance in locating 15 year old William Wakanabo. William was reported missing by a family member. William was last contacted on 5/23/26 at 10 pm, and last physically seen in the area of Washington Ave S in Bemidji.

William Wakanabo is 5’03”, 120 lbs, has black hair, and was wearing a black sweater and black pants. Photograph was provided by family member.
