Ben Lomond Library We are a non-profit, volunteer-run library located in Ben Lomond, Santa Cruz County, California. We also have a small selection of DVDs for check-out.

We are an independent, volunteer-run library and a non-profit organization, offering a wide selection of books ranging from classic literature to modern fiction in the following genres: science fiction, mysteries, westerns, children’s books, young adult fiction, Californiana, and general fiction. We offer a selection of non-fiction titles, and books about Ben Lomond and of other local interest. We

offer a small selection of free magazines and used books for sale. We welcome donations of both! We rely on our patrons’ generous donations and yearly memberships to keep our doors open and to continue serving the Ben Lomond community. Our membership rates are: adults ($5), children ($3), seniors ($3) and families ($10). Our members enjoy free wi-fi while visiting our library, and color and black and white copy services are available for a small fee. Our reading room can be rented for meetings after 5:00 p.m. Check with us for available days.

Also, we have stepped into the 21st century with a brand new smart phone. If you are unable to call during business hours (M-Sat 1:30-5:00 p.m.), you will be able to leave a message or send a text and one of the librarians will call or text you back as soon as possible.

Did you know you can renew books by phone? If you call or text when the library is closed, be sure to leave your name, the title of the book, and the due date on the pocket insert.

And, if you checked out books due today or tomorrow, fear not...overdue penalties will be waived. We will return to our normal hours on Friday, January 2.

From the Librarian's Desk

September is Library Card Sign-up Month. If you don't already have a library card for the Ben Lomond Library, we will be issuing cards for free all month long. To take advantage of this offer, just stop by the library anytime between 1:30 and 5:00 pm Monday through Saturday.

Note: The Ben Lomond Community Library is a non-profit, volunteer-run library and is not part of the Santa Cruz Country Library System. We are entirely funded through a nominal membership fee, donations, and used book sales.

We would also like to remind you, if you need to make copies, we are one of the few local places that has a copy machine. So, if you find yourself in a pinch, we're here for you.
