Pet supplies needed! A dog staying in our shelter recently welcomed a litter of puppies! Look how cute they are! 😍

For survivors of domestic violence, pets are family. Nearly half of survivors report staying in abusive situations rather than leave their pets behind, and only 19% of domestic violence shelters accept pets. Which is why Saving Grace welcomes survivors and their furry loved ones, because we know how precious, and important for recovery, pets are to us all. ❤️

Can you help us with these items for these pups and our others we house?

Dog/puppy food (and cat!)
Leashes and collars
Beds and blankets
Puppy pads
Toys and other pet supplies

"Saving Grace, which will receive $10,000, serves Jefferson, Crook and Deschutes counties and the Warm Springs Reservation.

Megan Kantrim, development director at Saving Grace, said food and gas vouchers will go to about 150 victims of intimate partner and dating violence. Money that would normally go to food and gas will help pay for necessities like feminine hygiene products and baby diapers.

“The impact of this is actually coming in at just the right moment,” Kantrim said. “The uncertainty has been a struggle for this past year. There’s been a lot of volatility regarding state and federal funding. Similar to other nonprofits in the community, we’re all looking to find new ways to diversify that funding and not cut programs.”"

At the end of July — two years into a sparse and competitive funding landscape — United Way of Central Oregon announced it awarded nearly $50,000 to 10 nonprofits in […]

🤝 How We Work in Community: Hospital Response Team

No one should have to navigate the aftermath of an assault alone. When a survivor presents at the hospital following an assault, healthcare providers, like our friends and partners at St. Charles, can contact Saving Grace's Hospital Response Team (HRT) through our 24/7 helpline at the request of the survivor.

A trained advocate responds to provide emotional support, information, and resources during what can be an overwhelming and difficult time. Advocates arrive with an HRT comfort bag containing items designed to provide care and comfort, while also helping meet immediate needs. Most importantly, they bring a compassionate presence, someone to listen, answer questions, and support survivors as they make decisions that feel right for them.

This partnership helps ensure survivors have access to support from the moment they need it most. We're grateful to work alongside our healthcare partners to help create a community where survivors are met with care, dignity, and support.

Abuse does not discriminate—and neither should support. 🏳️‍🌈

For some 2SLGBTQIA+ survivors, reaching out for help can come with additional fears:
• "What if they don't believe abuse can happen in my relationship?"
• "What if I get judged or stereotyped for who I am?"
• "What if seeking help means accidentally outing myself?"
• "What if the resources aren't meant for people like me?"

At Saving Grace, we serve all survivors with respect, dignity, and confidentiality. No matter your gender identity, sexual orientation, relationship status, or background, you deserve access to safety, support, and healing.

No one should have to choose between being themselves and getting help.

You are not alone. We are here for you.

Today, we recognize and celebrate fathers, father figures, caregivers, and mentors who show up with love, care, patience, and support.

Positive, healthy relationships help create safety, stability, and healing for families and children, and those everyday moments of presence and compassion matter deeply.

To all the dads and father figures making a difference in the lives of others: thank you. 💙
