For those who have been following and expressing concern, we're happy to report that the city has given us a temporary power connection. The air conditioning is up and running! We're still assessing everything to see what kind of damage the 4+ days of high heat and humidity may have caused. Thank you all for caring! Let's encourage the city to continue looking for the damaged line so we will have a permanent, not temporary, fix. But in the meantime, please join us tomorrow (Thursday, August 20) at 10 a.m. for Morning at the Museum!

Just one more week until the Freedom Truck is here! What can you expect inside this amazing mobile museum? Here's a little snapshot...

The Freedom Truck will be in the parking lot behind the county administration building next Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. The truck can accommodate 30-50 people at a time Teachers and administrators, please contact us to schedule field trips so you don't have to wait. Just call 843-479-5624.

We've had no power since Friday morning. Excessive heat and humidity have made it impossible for us to be open. We're told it will be at least Monday afternoon before power is restored - and we know it will be longer still before the building can be cooled down to an acceptable level. Stay tuned - we'll announce our reopening as soon as possible.

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED FOR SMITHSONIAN TRAVELING EXHIBIT

The Smithsonian Institution traveling exhibit, "Americans" is coming to Marlboro County, and we need YOUR help to welcome the community! If you love history, enjoy meeting new people, or want to give back to the community, this is the perfect opportunity for you.

EXHIBIT DETAILS
* Dates: October 10 – November 21
* Schedule: Open Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday
* Location: Murchison School

FLEXIBLE SHIFTS AVAILABLE
Whether you have a whole day or just a few hours, we have a spot for you!
* Weekday Shifts: Full (12-6 PM) or Half (12-3 PM / 3-6 PM)
* Saturday Shifts: Full (10 AM - 4 PM) or Half (10 AM - 1 PM / 1-4 PM)
