🚧 Road Closure Reminder: Bennington Road

Beginning Monday, June 8, Bennington Road will be closed at the bridge located just west of Bennington Elementary as part of a construction project.

The closure is expected to remain in place through early August while work is completed. We will continue to share updates as additional information becomes available. 🚧

🎉 Congratulations to Leah Christianson for receiving the May Shine Your Light Award!☀️ This award recognizes staff for the amazing work they do, going above and beyond, or making a difference for a colleague or student. All nominations are collected from colleagues, parents, and students. Two to three staff members are selected to receive the monthly award.

Mrs. Christianson is the head cook in Nutrition Services at Bennington High School. Her nominations describe her as someone who consistently goes above and beyond for students and takes great pride in the meals she prepares each day. She is recognized for her creativity, dedication, and passion for making sure students enjoy a delicious, hot meal while helping create a positive experience in the cafeteria. Thank you, Mrs. Christianson, for the positive impact you make at BHS each day!

The District greatly appreciates the partnership with the Foundation and all the support they provide to the District, staff, students, families, and this community.

Mrs. Kruse is a Speech-Language Pathologist at Bennington Middle School and Bennington High School. Her nominations describe her as a dedicated advocate for students who consistently goes above and beyond to support their success. Despite a demanding workload, she is known for creating positive relationships with students, building confidence, and helping students feel supported and encouraged. Colleagues and families also recognized her for her teamwork, compassion, and commitment to making every student feel valued and capable. Thank you, Mrs. Kruse, for the positive impact you make on students and staff each day!

Today we recognize our speech-language pathologists for the incredible support they provide to students each day. Through their dedication, expertise, and encouragement, they help students build communication skills, confidence, and success both inside and outside the classroom. Friday, was School Communicator Day and we want to take the opportunity to celebrate our Communications Coordinator, Stacy Hawn.

From sharing the stories of our students and staff to keeping families and the community informed, Stacy plays an important role in supporting communication across Bennington Public Schools each day.

Thank you, Stacy, for your dedication, creativity, and commitment to BPS. We appreciate all that you do!

Bennington Middle School students Jenna Murray and Tessa Ehlers represented our research program at the state level and stood out among some of the top young scientists in Nebraska. Both students were named State Winners, an outstanding accomplishment as they were 2 of only 10 students recognized across the entire state.
🏅 Tessa Ehlers earned:
$100 award from Nucor Corporation
An additional $2,500 scholarship to the University of Nebraska-Lincoln
🏅 Jenna Murray earned:
$100 award from Ward’s Laboratories in Kearney
The American Physiological Association Award
Jenna will also advance to compete at the national level in the Thermo Fisher Junior Innovators Challenge.

Camps available in Boys/Girls Basketball, Boys/Girls Soccer, Softball, Football, Volleyball, Girls/Boys Wrestling, Cheer, Boys/Girls Tennis, Boys/Girls Golf, and Track & Field.
*Use the grade the child will be in for the next school year.
