Stuart Hurd’s $1 million scheme
Bennington’s property and school taxes are going through the roof in 2020. The increases will be like 15 percent combined. Now the town manager Stuart Hurd wants to fleece you for another 1 million dollars with a sleezy thing called the local option tax. The local option tax would let Stuart Hurd add another 1% tax on top of the other taxes you pay when you buy ci******es, vapes, beer, guns, hunting supplies and most stuff at Walmart. This is another one of Stuart Hurd’s attacks on the working poor. All of your money from this local option tax would go right into Stuart Hurd’s pockets. We can’t afford the local option tax. Don’t believe the lies Stuart Hurd and his elitist friends on the Select Board try to spin before the election. VOTE NO TO THE LOCAL OPTION TAX ON MARCH 3.
