Yesterday morning (Friday) at approximately 02:30 hours the Bennington Rural Fire Department was on scene of fire alarm activation with in the Bennington Rural Fire District. While on scene the Bennington Rural Fire Department was dispatched for a mutual aid request. While responding to the mutual aid request to the Arlington Fire Department a Bennington Rural Fire Department apparatus was involved in a motor vehicle crash with one of our Chief Engineers in their personal vehicle. Members of the Bennington Rural Fire Department worked to extricate the driver from their vehicle so they could be transported to a local hospital for treatment. The Bennington Police Department and the Bennington Rescue Squad also assisted at the scene. The Bennington Rural Fire Department would like to thank the community and fellow first responders for their support during this challenging time.

Sincerely,

Chief Steven Waters
Bennington Rural Fire Department

Dear Bennington,

The news about the weather can be scary, but we want to reassure you that when the snow comes, we are ready. We have amazing, dedicated crews who will be working their hardest to keep our roads as clear and safe as possible. Our equipment is well maintained. Our teams are very experienced. We will do everything we can, from road clearing, to policing, to fire protection, to whatever it takes to keep everyone safe. We are here for you.

That is who we are as Vermonters. Who we are as Benningtonians! Join us in helping each other. Check in with your neighbors. Look out for elderly folks who might not have family nearby. Go the extra mile when you can and help someone in need. We are all in this together!
