The fun keeps rolling at the playground!

We’ve been getting some BIG turnouts for our Fire Truck at the Playground, and the kids are having an absolute blast cooling off and making some great summer memories!

But the kids aren’t the only ones having fun! Our firefighters love getting out there, playing with the kids, and being part of the community.

And let’s just say… some of the kids have discovered that firefighters are not good goalkeepers They’ve been scoring some serious Goals on our crew!

Resurfacing Operations Planned Next Week on Several State Highways in our Region

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that resurfacing operations are planned next week on several state highways in Bensalem

Monday, July 27, through Friday, July 31, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM and from 7:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning, a lane closure with flagging will be in place on Route 513 (Hulmeville Road) between Route 132 (Street Road) and Galloway Road in Bensalem Township for milling, paving, and utility adjustments.

BIG SHOUT-OUT TO BATTALION CHIEF NICK ALTOMARE!

Our department would like to recognize Battalion Chief Nick Altomare, who goes above and beyond every day to make sure our crews are properly trained, well-equipped, and have access to the best equipment available.

Over the past several days, Battalion Chief Altomare has been working hard mounting and outfitting newly purchased equipment on Engine 222. This includes the Paratech Gold Series Rescue Equipment, which is used by firefighters during technical rescue operations to stabilize collapsed buildings, vehicles, and large equipment—helping create safer conditions for both our crews and those we are working to rescue.

His dedication to training, equipment, and the safety of our firefighters and community does not go unnoticed. We are proud to have leaders who continuously work to make sure our crews have the tools and training needed to perform when it matters most.

Today, our crew stopped by a local summer camp to help everyone beat the heat! Nothing says summer like cooling off with the fire hose, lots of smiles, and plenty of laughter.

We love getting out into the community and creating fun memories while building relationships with the kids we proudly serve.

Thank you to everyone for the warm welcome—we had an amazing time!

⚠️ Fire Truck at the Playground

Event Cancellation ⚠️

Due to the forecast for heavy rainfall and the potential for hazardous weather conditions this afternoon, today’s Fire Truck at the Playground event has been cancelled.

The safety of our community, especially our children and families, as well as our firefighters, is our top priority. With the possibility of heavy rain and emergency responses throughout the township, we have made the decision to cancel today’s event.

We appreciate your understanding and look forward to seeing everyone at our next scheduled Fire Truck at the Playground event. Stay safe, and please use extra caution if traveling during today’s weather.
