Two last THANK YOUS for the week! Thanks to Jay and crew from Jay’s Joint for the large chicken donation again this month! It was needed as meats are at a premium in everyone’s pantry right now—Jay has a big heart toward our area pantries and is always advocating for more proteins to come our way. He does more than his part helping in this respect and I know we speak for all the pantries and families that benefit from his tireless efforts in saying THANKS! Also our community partner A & L Foods in Bensalem has been regularly donating some awesome foods we quite frankly nearly ever see in the pantry—this week we got lots of dairy items like whitefish and cheeses and yogurt, as well as cases and cases of horseradish!! If you haven’t gotten yours this week, it’s still ready for next time… We also received more cases of the delicious macaroons we’ve been receiving—in even more flavors! Yummy—thanks Abraham and friends for the variety of goodness you add to our basic staples. All in all quite a week as we begin our journey without Philabundance and rely on our own ingenuity and new community partners!! Thank you one and all for your generosity and support as WE all work to end hunger in our community and beyond!❤️

Thanks go out to our new friend Deb who decided to make us some “birthday boxes”—a complete birthday party in a pan! It was her first try at it, and you can tell by the happy faces of some of the October birthday folks that received them that they were a hit! Deb, thank you so much for helping your neighbors celebrate in style!! Every act of kindness makes the world a better place!!

I mean, what can we say about today? Today we did what we ALWAYS want to do-SHARE! We have been so limited in being able to share the goodness God has given us and we are excited to say that things are changing.

This morning we received 33,600 lbs of beautiful, fresh tomatoes 🍅 and peppers🫑 given to us by Sharing Excess. And just 12 hours later almost all of those beauties are gone!

We made some calls, sent some texts and BANG ‼️ our network of awesome people show up to fill their trucks, cars and vans to take back to their neighborhoods. If you were at the pantry today, you saw the great things happening, even among the chaos, you saw God’s work in action.

We even got some hostess gifts of some fresh spinach🤣! I mean come on, this is how it works people-SHARE!

I’m SURE I’m missing some of the groups we handed out to today but here we go….

Mary’s Cupboard
Willow Grove Baptist Food Pantry
Parx Racing Food Pantry
Calvary Bristol
Bristol Township Senior Center
Philadelphia Christian Center
Hope101
The Keystone Paw Pantry
New Salem Baptist Church
Kpana
Royal Care Foundation
Betty's Blessed Bus

Thanks so much to Mike and the team at Sharing Excess for making this happen and helping us get the food to where it needs to be-to the PEOPLE! 💪🏻

Had an AWESOME night hanging out and creating some tote bags! We collaborated with the church to come together and paint tote bags with produce! It was a fantastic time and hopefully there will be more bags to come.

Thanks so much to New Falls Pharmacy for their donation today! They have a table set up for their patrons to drop off non perishable foods to be donated to a local pantry—they filled a shopping cart with everything from ramen to coffee to cereal to pb & j!! What a great idea and a wonderfully easy way to help our neighbors in need!! Thanks to our volunteer Pat who picked this up while visiting his local pharmacy!! Another cart of food was dropped off anonymously at exactly the same time , as another community-minded friend did a drive by donation. What a great help these small acts of kindness are!! Thanks to everyone who donates and brings a smile to someone else! We LOVE this!!

Just wanted to say THANK YOU to all our volunteers who came out today last minute to sort, set up and sell tons of goodies! This would not have been possible without the donation from Dollar Tree, thanks to our friend Ruth-thank you all again!!

And a huge thank you to Apollo's Family Pizzeria who fed our crew this evening. And let’s not forget our anonymous “cold soda donor”-she saw us all sweaty and working hard, ran down to Lou's Farm Mart grabbed a bunch of drinks and Lou’s threw in some free chips for us too! I mean let’s talk about community support-it doesn’t get any better than that!

We can all put our feet up and relax tonight knowing we have felt the love today and that we raised $550 to help us pay our utility bills and rent this month!

It truly takes a community effort to do the Lord’s work and thanks to those who got their hands dirty today making sure it got done!
