During the heavy rain, a kind resident found this little dog in the area of Route 83 and Stoneham. The finder wanted to notify us they are taking care of the dog, The owner will have to show proof of ownership.

The dog is not at the Police Department and we have no further information.

"Suspect in Custody in Fatal Stabbing

Jalonie Jenkins was taken into custody without incident late Sunday night in Downers Grove. He is being held in reference to the ongoing investigation of the fatal stabbings of Janiya Jenkins, 21 years-old, and Eyani Jones, 10 years-old. The Streamwood Police Department is no longer seeking public assistance at this time.

We appreciate the public’s support during this investigation. Further information will be forthcoming."

Suspect in Custody in Fatal Stabbing

Jalonie Jenkins was taken into custody without incident late Sunday night in Downers Grove. He is being held in reference to the ongoing investigation of the fatal stabbings of Janiya Jenkins, 21 years-old, and Eyani Jones, 10 years-old. Late Wednesday night, after being notified of a potential crime in Streamwood, authorities in Bensenville located the suspect’s vehicle in Redmond Park. A perimeter was immediately established, and an extensive search of the park was conducted with the assistance of drones, search dogs, and support from area law enforcement, including the Cook County Sheriff’s Office, DuPage County Sheriff’s Office, and other local agencies.

This case has been turned over to the Major Case Assistance Team and Streamwood Police.
