Our Food Pantry relies heavily on the generosity of volunteers who selflessly offer their time and skills to benefit our neighbors in need. The Food Pantry is currently seeking volunteer truck drivers to join our team in rescuing food from donating corporate partners. We need drivers during the following shifts:

▪️ Wednesdays: 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
▪️ Thursdays: 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.
▪️ Fridays: 6:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m.
⁣
Times are approximate, and volunteers are welcome to join one or more shifts. Volunteers do not need a CDL to drive our trucks, but they must be able to lift heavy boxes when rescuing food from donors and when unloading at the food pantry.

Do you have a few hours to spare today? Help move food donations from the Bensenville or Wood Dale Post Offices to the Bensenville Wood Dale Food Pantry. Show up to either of the post offices at 3:30 p.m. if you are able to help! Closed-toed shoes REQUIRED for all volunteers.

Food is SO expensive. If you are able to share a few non-perishable food items with your neighbors, put those items in a bag near your mailbox today before your mail is delivered. Your mail carrier will take care of the rest. Food collected by the Bensenville and Wood Dale Post Offices will be given to the Bensenville Wood Dale Food Pantry.

Friends - sharing is caring! Check your cupboards and find non-perishable food items (good expiration dates please) that you can share through the nation-wide Stamp Out Hunger food drive. All you need to do is put your food items in a bag near your mailbox before your mail carrier delivers your mail tomorrow. The mail carrier will take the food back to our local post offices. Food collected by the Bensenville and Wood Dale post offices will be given to the Bensenville Wood Dale Food Pantry!!

🌟 VOLUNTEERS NEEDED! Help Fight Hunger on Saturday, May 10! 🌟

The Bensenville Wood Dale Food Pantry is looking for awesome volunteers to help load/unload and transport food donations during the annual Letter Carriers’ Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive — one of the most important donation events of the year! 💪❤️

📅 Date: Saturday, May 10, 2025
⏰ Time: 3:30 PM (1–2 hours)
📍 Locations (choose one):
➡️ Bensenville Post Office (303 E. Green St, Bensenville) — meet at REAR of building
➡️ Wood Dale Post Office (270 N Wood Dale Rd, Wood Dale) — meet at REAR of building

✨ What You’ll Do:
✔ Arrive at 3:30 PM sharp
✔ Load donated food into pantry vehicles
✔ Transport food to the pantry
✔ (If time permits) Help sort and shelve donations

👟 What to Wear:
Closed-toe shoes (REQUIRED)
Comfortable clothes
Weather-appropriate gear (bring rain gear if needed)

💧 What to Bring:
Refillable water bottle
Work gloves (if you have them)

⚠ Please note: Some lifting (up to 25 lbs) is required — use proper lifting technique!

On May 10th at 3:30 p.m., we need many hands to make light work!! Help the Bensenville Wood Dale Food Pantry by showing up to the Bensenville or Wood Dale Post Offices tomorrow, May 10th at 3:30 p.m. to help load all the food donations collected thru the Stamp Out Hunger drive onto Pantry vehicles. We expect this should take 1-2 hours - the more volunteers we have, the faster it will go!!! Closed-toed shoes REQUIRED. Let's help our Bensenville and Wood Dale neighbors by participating in the National Stamp Out Hunger food drive. Tomorrow morning, put your shelf-stable food donations (in a bag) near your mailbox. Your postal worker will collect your donations when they deliver your mail. Donations collected by the Bensenville and Wood Dale postal workers will be given to the Bensenville Wood Dale Food Pantry.
