If you want an interior inspection of your home and have not gotten one, please call the listers at 802-456-4094 Ext 4 or email [email protected]. We will get you on the list!!!! Interior inspections are not mandatory but can be helpful in receiving an accurate assessment.

The Selectboard has approved a committee to look at installing new playground equipment and upgrading existing equipment between the Community Hall and Town Office.
If you are interested in serving on the committee or just want to share your thoughts on the playground, please plan to attend a meeting on July 30 downstairs in the Community Hall at 6:30PM.
If you are unable to attend but want to serve on the committee or share your thoughts, email John Hill ([email protected]).

NOTICE: On Monday July 20th, Sunset Lake Rd will be getting a face lift by Wilk Paving of Rutland, we ask that traffic remains at a minimum and that residents who reside on the dirt portion make plans to exit from the Orwell end . Thank you for your cooperation!

The Benson Highway Dept worked with Vermont Fish & Wildlife to install an exclusion fence (or “beaver deceiver”) to better help manage our Class IV roadway and continue proper drainage while considering wildlife conservation and habitat. This is the second one we’ve installed and it was a good experience working with the biologist team.

The reappraisal website is now up and running.
Please go to bensonvermont.gov/reappraisal/ for a direct link to the page where you can enter your personal code (which you will see on the sticker/label that the appraisers give to you once they enter your information – generally a week or two after they have been to your residence). The Benson Transfer Station will be closed on Saturday, July 4th in honor of Independence Day. It's going to be hot this week, your trash may be stinky, so you might want to get there on Wednesday (noon-4 pm)! 😉
