🦇 While the bats at Kartchner Caverns spend about six months in the Big Room giving birth and raising their pups, nature keeps working behind the scenes!

The guano left behind on trails and handrails can support fungi and other microorganisms, creating some pretty unusual looking growths.

Now that the bats have left for the season, our team is getting the Big Room ready for visitors again!

👀 Which of these growths is your favorite looking? Let us know in the comments!

We had our Star Party planned, but Mother Nature had other plans! 🌧️😂

Ranger Hurricane Rachel wasn’t about to let a little weather go unnoticed! Sometimes, even the best plans have to make room for the unexpected.

The stars will still be there when the skies clear, and we look forward to welcoming everyone back for another chance to enjoy the night sky with us at Kartchner Caverns State Park. 🌌✨

Thanks for rolling with the weather, everyone!
