With it being international firefighters day it only seemed fitting that at tonight's city council meeting, our fire department, police, ems and a citizen were recognized and presented a challenge coin for their swift action when a house fire broke out the night of March 1st. They didn't hesitate. Thanks to their rapid response and expert training, everyone got out safely. We are forever grateful to the brave men and women who put their lives on the line for our community.

Today, the parking lot of Benson High School was transformed into a somber scene. Together with TZD Partner, Benson Fire Department, Police Dept, EMS, State Troopers, Life link III and the local Funeral Home, we staged a mock crash to show our students the real-life dangers of impaired driving before prom and graduation.
This demonstration was intense—students witnessed firsthand the process of extracting passengers, field sobriety tests, the loading of a person into life link and the devastating arrival of the coroner.

Our goal is simple: We want everyone to make it to prom and back home safely.

A big thank you to all the first responders, student actors, and community partners who made this educational, eye-opening experience possible. Make smart choices, friends.
