This summer, Arizona G&T Cooperatives welcomed five engineering interns who worked alongside employees across our organization and gained practical experience in the generation and transmission electric utility industry.

The internship program provides students with an opportunity to apply their education in a working utility environment, while learning directly from experienced engineers and other technical professionals. At the same time, these programs help introduce the next generation of engineers to the increasingly complex technical challenges and career opportunities within our industry.

We appreciate the work and contributions of our interns this summer and wish them continued success as they complete their education and begin their careers.

It was a pleasure welcoming Congressman Juan Ciscomani to our Benson headquarters. A recipient of the Electric Cooperative Champion Award, Congressman Ciscomani has been a strong advocate for Arizona’s rural communities and the member-owned electric cooperatives that serve them.
Cooperative and community leaders joined Arizona G&T employees for the afternoon, providing an opportunity to hear directly from Congressman Ciscomani about issues affecting rural Arizona and the electric cooperative community.

A special thank-you to the Benson High School FCCLA students for providing cupcakes for our guests and helping make the event a success.

CEO Patrick Ledger discussed how we are preparing for rising energy demand through a diverse mix of natural gas, solar and battery storage. He also highlighted the important role economic development plays in supporting growth and strengthening the communities we serve.

Our team was honored to join Anza Electric Cooperative, Inc. at their 75th Annual Meeting in Anza, CA! AEPCO Executive Vice President & CEO Patrick Ledger reflected on the Cooperatives' bright future and highlighted new reliability projects benefiting Anza members, including Santa Rosa Storage and the Tony Lappos microgrid. Thank you to Anza Electric Cooperative for hosting a wonderful event.

AEPCO was proud to participate in this year's Fourth of July parade with our all-electric Ford Lightning, celebrating the spirit that powers our nation and our communities.

As we celebrated America's independence, we were reminded that courage, innovation, and an independent spirit have always driven our country's progress. We're honored to continue that tradition by delivering safe, reliable, and affordable power to rural Arizona.

Three Benson High School STEM students recently traveled to Atlanta, Georgia, to compete in the SkillsUSA Championships in the Engineering Technology – Design category, representing both their school and rural Arizona on the national stage.

Arizona Electric Power Cooperative is proud to support the Benson High School STEM program, which provides opportunities for students to develop technical skills, explore career pathways, and compete at the highest levels. Congratulations on this remarkable achievement and for helping pave the way for future generations of STEM students.

This week, Arizona Electric Power Cooperative and Grand Canyon State Electric Cooperative Association hosted Cochise County Board of Supervisors Chairman Frank Antenori at our Apache Generating Station for a discussion on critical infrastructure and energy reliability in Southern Arizona. We appreciate Chairman Antenori taking the time to learn more about our operations and long-term commitment to dependable energy production.

Over 200 cooperative and public power representatives and guests attended Arizona G&T Cooperatives’ 2026 Annual Meeting in Tucson last week, where they heard from keynote speaker Mike Nasi of Jackson Walker LLP. Mike delivered a timely look at the evolving energy landscape — from grid reliability and AI-driven load growth to federal regulatory reform and the future of domestic power generation.
