• Conventions and Conferences open to the public
• City of Benson spon
sored events and programs
• Fundraising events open to the general public that are sponsored by service clubs, not-for-profit groups or other community based public institutions
• Public Service Announcements
• Promotion of Public Awareness weeks, such as Fire Safety Week
• Public Institutions for the purpose of communicating pertinent information to the general public
• Events of public interest
• Information of public interest
• Promotion of Tourism in Benson, Cochise County and the State of Arizona
• Networking for the purpose of establishing relationships, engaging residents and gaining knowledge to better serve residents and tourists and to encourage the promotion of Benson and Cochise County as a point of interest from outside sources
Prohibited Social Media/Networking Content:
Content containing any of the following will not be permitted to remain:
• Promotions of events not open to the general public
• Promotions of events not suitable for the general public
• Private Events or fundraising
• Promotion of political, factional or sectarian religious events or activities
• Use by business or commercial advertisers to promote particular private enterprises, commercial goods or services, except that entities owned by the City of Benson considered “competition” for other locally owned businesses may make such communications
• Promotion of permanent businesses operated by not-for-profit groups or organizations such as cafes, coffee shops, gift shops or stores
• Promotion of registration, membership or recruitment drives by not-for-profit groups, associations or organizations, except for schools and local youth sports organizations and entities owned by the City of Benson considered “competition” for other locally owned businesses
• Promotion of any special community event where net proceeds are for personal profit, except where such event is undertaken to pay an individual’s funeral or medical bills
• Birthday, anniversary or obituary/memorial messages for individuals or organizations
• Messages that state or imply endorsement by the City of Benson for any non-city events
• Direct facial shots of minor children
• Criticism of elected officials, coworkers, disagreements on policies and procedures, proprietary, confidential or sensitive information about the City, coworkers, patrons, partner agencies/affiliates, members of the public or third party vendors
• Posts or comments considered inappropriate or non-reflective of the mission of the City of Benson
