Help support our fire department and local communities by donating food for Harvest for Hunger! Drop off non-perishable goods at our Village Hall now through the end of March 🥫

In a joint effort, between the Chagrin Valley Fire Department and the villages that we serve, we will be collecting for the Greater Cleveland Food Bank’s annual Harvest for Hunger Campaign. Donation boxes will be found in all public city buildings. You can donate your Non-perishable food and household items throughout the month of March. Donations made will help fight hunger in 21 North-East Ohio’s counties. Last year with our combined efforts we were able to collect and donate over 2600 lbs. of food and over $600 dollars in donations. I believe this community wide effort will make a big difference in many people’s lives. So clean out your pantries at home and let’s make 2026 the best year yet.

The Foodbanks most needed items:

Cereal (hot or cold)
Peanut butter
Canned tuna/chicken
Canned fruits and vegetables
Canned or boxed entrees
Whole grain rice and pasta
Beans (canned or dried)
100% juice
Pasta sauce (low sodium)

Last week (the coldest night of last week to be specific 🥶), Det. Morris and Ofc. Hoover were on patrol and came across kids sledding at the South Chagrin Reservation sledding hill. They were kind enough to let us crash their sledding session, and even raced Det. Morris down the hill. We had so much fun, and thankfully there were no injuries and no frost bite, even though it felt like -25 🛷❄️

🚨 Service Update Due to Winter Weather 🚨

Your safety and the safety of our drivers is our top priority. Due to the recent winter storm and hazardous driving conditions, all routes scheduled for the week of 1/26 through 1/30 will be delayed by one day.

This delay allows cities and townships time to clear roads and improve access so our team can safely complete service.

What to know:
• Please place items at your regular pickup location
• Ensure carts and items are accessible and not blocked by ice or snow
• Kimble Landfill, Transfer Stations, and Customer Service will be closed on Monday, 1/26
• We expect to resume normal operations on Tuesday, 1/27

We apologize for any inconvenience and appreciate your patience and understanding. Thank you for trusting Kimble Recycling & Disposal to serve your community safely and reliably.

With the ongoing heavy winter season, communities across Northeast Ohio are experiencing reduced availability of rock salt, which is impacting snow and ice control operations. Regional salt stockpiles have been significantly depleted, and current deliveries are arriving directly from the mines as supply becomes available. This situation is affecting all local communities in the area.

The Village of Bentleyville currently has a limited supply of rock salt on hand, and we are awaiting delivery of more salt. It is crucial to ration the salt supply that we have and treat the priority areas of the village first. The priority areas include main roads along with hills and intersections. Due to the anticipated intensity of the storm, all side streets and cul-de-sacs will be plowed but will not be treated with salt until after the snow event has ended.

Please use extra caution when driving on snow-covered roads. Take it slow and give yourself extra time to get to where you’re going. To help our service department clear roads as safely and efficiently as possible, snow emergency parking bans are anticipated due to the forecast of snow exceeding 2 inches. When a ban is in effect, vehicles parked on village streets may be ticketed or towed to clear roadways for plowing.

Your patience and understanding is appreciated as we work to keep roads safe during another Ohio snowstorm. Stay safe and drive carefully! ❄️

We're still a week away from the official start of winter, but Ohio has decided it's time for more snow!

The National Weather Service has issued a Lake Effect Snow Warning, predicting 5-10" of snow between now and 7am Monday with bitterly cold temperatures.

The Village's snow parking ban will be in effect- there will be no street parking permitted after a snowfall of 2" or more. Please do not park on roadways so our crews can safely get through and maintain roads.

Stay safe and warm!

Ordinance 451.02- "When on the traveled or paved portion of any street in the Village there is a snowfall of two inches or more standing, a "snow emergency" shall exist and parking on such street or streets shall be prohibited. Any car parked on the street when two inches of snow is accumulated shall be removed forthwith so that the paved portion is clear for the passage of snowplows."
