We are monitoring a couple of potential hazards thru the weekend:

Severe storms on Friday: Low-topped showers and storms could form as early as 11 am Friday as they cross western PA/northern WV. Could contain damaging wind gusts or a short-lived tornado.

Frost/Freeze: Cold air moves in Friday night, with greatest potential for frost and sub-freezing temperature Saturday night. There is still potential for a warmer outcome south and west of I-76, but frost/freeze potential is rather high regardless north and east of I-76, and along the ridges of PA and WV.

Takeaways: Potential for Severe Storms (11a-3p Friday), Cold temperature Friday night with potential for Frost and Freeze Saturday night. Be prepared to protect outdoor animals and sensitive plants.

We have a Marginal Outlook for severe and excessive rainfall for Wednesday. Both of these threats will be along and south of I-70. The timing will mainly be in the afternoon between 2pm and 6pm.

Not much has changed with the forecast for the arrival of what will be the remnants of Hurricane Isaias. Rain arrives Saturday night and continues into Sunday night, with a soaking rain that carries low risks for localized flooding. Gusty wind is also expected, particularly in and near the high terrain.
