Dear Friends and Neighbors,
I am reaching out to our wonderful community for support. In 2019, for my Girl Scout Silver Award project, I created the Sister Lakes Little Free Library, and it quickly became a space that promotes literacy, sharing, and connection.
When the library was built, it was designed in the unique shape of a rowboat to reflect the spirit of the Sister Lakes Community. The library is proudly located in front of Mitchell Outdoor and Design, at the site of the old bank on M-152 in Sister Lakes.
After six wonderful years of service, the library is showing its age. To keep it strong for many more years, we are asking for community support to help raise the $900 needed to completely replace and improve the library. Don’t worry, the beloved rowboat shape will always remain!
The new library will be custom-built by a professional woodworker, ensuring it is beautifully crafted, sturdier, and more weather-resistant. With these updates, readers of all ages will continue to enjoy a safe, welcoming, and long-lasting place to share books with one another.
We have set up a GoFundMe page to make this project possible, and I would be truly grateful for any contribution, no matter the size. Every dollar will go toward rebuilding and improving the library.
If you'd rather donate in person, Mitchell Outdoor & Design is also accepting donations at their office.
Thank you for being an important part of a community that makes books readily accessible and promotes literacy.
Together, we can keep the love of reading afloat in Sister Lakes.
With gratitude,
Megan Willis
