West Marshall Fire Department The West Marshall Fire Department responds to over 89 square miles of area in Western Marshall County Training schedules and locations will be posted here.

West Marshall Fire Department was formed from a Merger of the Harvey-Brewers and ENO (Elva, New Harmony, Oak Level) Fire Departments. West Marshall Fire Department covers 61 square miles of area in the southwestern portion of Marshall County. We currently operate two primary stations and a satellite station in Brewers. We meet the 1st and 3rd Tuesdays of every month at either the Harvey or ENO sta

tions. We average between 80-100 calls per year, and currently have a fleet of 12 apparatus. We have approximately 25 active firefighters. We also are one of the only departments in Marshall County that participates in the Junior Firefighter Program as prescribed by the Kentucky Fire Commission. If your interested please come check us out at our next training.

Thank you Kevin Spraggs and Marshall County Fiscal Court for salting and plowing our station parking lots, allowing us to focus on responses.
Its great when emergency response agencies can count on their County for assistance when needed.

Also, thanks to the Marshall County Road Department for some fine plowing of the county maintained roads.

On the scene of a small fire in the median at I69 near the 41mm.

The dry nature of the right of way areas make grass fires more common on limited access highways, so please exercise caution with chains sparking, axles burning up and sparking, or throwing ci******es out.

It is with a heavy heart we inform everyone on the loss of a dear mentor, friend, and firefighter. Barry Darnall was called home today to rejoice with his lord and savior. Barry dedicated his life to the service of others. He served as a paramedic with the Marshall County Ambulance Service, Marshall County Rescue Squad, Palma-Briensburg Fire Department and with West Marshall Fire Department. A life full of service to his community and a life well lived filled with memories and laughter. Rest easy Barry. We will take the watch from here and dedicate it to your memory.

Tonight WMFD responded to Nance Lane for a vehicle that was partially swept off the roadway due to flood water. WMFD and MCSO units were able to enter the water and assist the driver out of the water.

The conditions tonight as far as flooding are considerably worse than last night, with several roads in our district underwater in many places. We continue to receive heavy rainfall and more roads will be flooded. Pay close attention in low lying areas as you can drive down a clear road and the same road will covered with flood water five minutes later.

It appears as if we were somewhat fortunate in receiving major severe weather compared to other areas. However, there are approx 410 houses without power in our district without power as well as a few downed trees.

The major concern is the current flash flooding, which several roads in our area face at this moment, and the upcoming flood threat throughout the remainder of this week.

Please be careful when driving in low areas, as several roads currently have several inches of fast moving water on them.

Also, there is additional potential for severe weather for the next few days. I dont think it's as serious as this was, but pay attention to your media sources.
