Teamwork Makes a Difference

Last night, the Marshall County Sheriff's Office responded to a report involving a 14-year-old juvenile who had run away and was believed to be in a stolen vehicle.

Through the teamwork and dedication of multiple agencies and our specialized resources, the juvenile was located safely.

K-9 Walter played an important role in the search by helping our deputies narrow down the area where the juvenile was believed to be. Our drone pilot then utilized the drone to search the area and successfully located the juvenile.

We want to recognize the outstanding work of everyone involved, especially K-9 Walter and our drone operator, whose efforts were instrumental in bringing the search to a safe conclusion.

We also want to sincerely thank Benton Police Department, Marshall County Emergency Management, and Marshall County Central Dispatch for assisting our deputies throughout the search.

Great job by everyone involved!

A jury duty scam is making the rounds in Kentucky again.

Scammers pretending to be law enforcement call and claim you missed jury duty. They direct their victims to a cryptocurrency kiosk to pay a fine and โ€œresolveโ€ the situation, but the money goes directly to the scammer. If you receive this phone call, immediately hang up.

๐Ÿšฉ Once cryptocurrency is sent, it is extremely difficult, if not impossible, to recover.
๐Ÿšฉ Legitimate law enforcement officials do not ask for or accept cryptocurrency as payment for fines.
