Math Brains are Multiplying in Ms. Ramsey's Class!

One month of 4th grade down, and our math brains are already MULTIPLYING! ✖️🧠✨ We’ve been busy exploring factors, multiples, and all the ways numbers work together! We are GROWING our math toolbox each day with new skills to better PREPARE ourselves for the units to come!

🐾❤️ Building Bonds with Buddy Classrooms!

We officially launched our Buddy Classroom initiative! Each class is paired with another HP class to build relationships, cheer one another on toward individual and classroom goals, and practice essential literacy and math skills together throughout the year.

Miss Ramsey’s 4th graders and Mrs. Duke’s Kindergarteners had their first Buddy Classroom time together this week! They talked about their weekend plans, shared something they learned during the week, and even enjoyed a brain break together. 😊

We love watching these special bonds begin to grow! 🌱 HP truly is a family, and Buddy Classrooms are one more way we’re helping our scholars feel connected, supported, and encouraged by one another. ❤️🐾

🌱 Mrs. Ward’s 2nd Graders Are Growing! 🌱

It’s been a great week of learning and leadership in Mrs. Ward’s 2nd grade class! ❤️🐾

➕ This week, students started XtraMath to build their fact fluency, and already 3 students have earned certificates! 🎉

⭐ We’re also giving a special shoutout to Lucas, who was a fantastic helper this morning! He held the gym door and helped remind other students of our morning expectations.

Our halls at Howard Perrin are full of little Panthers showing their Benton pride today! ❤️🤍 For more than 25 years, the Salt Bowl has brought our community together for one of our favorite traditions — Benton vs. Bryant!

We love seeing our HP scholars decked out in their Panther gear and ready to cheer on Benton tonight!

🔎 Scientists at Work! 🖐️🌱

Mrs. Dougherty and Mrs. Baldwin’s classes are putting their scientist skills into action! Our scholars are learning that scientists pay close attention, ask questions, and stay curious—even about something as familiar as their own hands!

Students traced their hands, added as many details as they could, and then used magnifying glasses to take an even closer look. 🔍

We love seeing our HP scholars observe, wonder, and grow as scientists! 🐾

🌱 We are GROWING as a classroom community and preparing for EXCELLENCE in second grade! ❤️🐾

Students in Ms. Tolbert’s class are off to a tremendous start! Morning meetings are helping students build connections as they greet one another by name, share their “All About Me” bags, learn a second-grade anthem and math facts chant, and read the morning message together.

They’ve also personalized their daily folders to help strengthen communication between school and home and spent time exploring the classroom library and choosing books that interest them. 📚

So much learning, connecting, and GROWING is already happening in second grade! 🌱✨

Mrs. Duke’s class has kicked off their Nursery Rhyme Unit, and they are learning while having lots of fun!

Students practiced reciting "Roses Are Red" and "Ring Around the Rosie" while listening for words that rhyme. Recognizing rhyming words is PREPARING our young scholars for more advanced phonics skills in the future! 📚

They also practiced important fine motor skills by cutting, gluing, and sequencing a rhyme—and, of course, had some fun singing "Ring Around the Rosie" together! ❤️

Kindergarten is such a fun place to learn and GROW!
