BPPJ August 5 Regular Agenda Meeting Notes
During the August 5 Regular Agenda Meeting, the Jury focused on continued investment in parish infrastructure, public utilities, neighborhood improvement, and property standards enforcement.
The Jury approved the bid from Axis Construction for Phase Two of the Dogwood North Pump House project, which is funded in part through a Community Water Enrichment Fund (CWIF) grant. The project includes the transition of equipment and upgrades to the existing piping system.
The Jury also approved the recommendations from the Property Standards Board of Review regarding five properties that continue to pose health and safety concerns. Officials reported that the property owners had made no significant progress in addressing the cited issues.
During the departmental reports portion of the meeting, the Highway Department staff provided updates on maintenance activities across the parish, including road repairs, drainage work, and routine infrastructure maintenance in multiple districts. The report also included information on ongoing mosquito spraying efforts and plans for additional roadwork and repairs in the coming weeks.
The Engineering staff reported on several active projects throughout the parish, which included the bidding process for the Lucky Estates project, ongoing drainage improvement projects, roadway overlay programs, and upcoming road striping work designed to improve safety and roadway visibility.
Jury President Tom Salzer noted that the continued investment in infrastructure, public utilities, and neighborhood improvements reflects the positive momentum being seen throughout the parish. “These projects demonstrate the steady growth and progress taking place across our parish,” Salzer said. “We are committed to improving our infrastructure, addressing community needs, and making strategic investments that will benefit residents of Bossier for years to come.”
