👀 Well… we heard a rumor.

You know how small-town gossip goes. 😂 So before this one makes another trip around the square, we figured we’d clear it up:

📣 YES — the Benton Square WILL be closed for the Rend Lake Car Show this Saturday, September 12!

The Benton Square will be closed from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. as we welcome cars, vendors, visitors, and our community downtown.

So if you heard otherwise… consider this the official word straight from the Chamber. 😉

Now that we’ve settled that rumor, help us spread the right one:

The Rend Lake Car Show is this weekend, and we need your help filling our participant bags!

Pens, keychains, coupons, stickers, samples, promotional items—we’ll gladly take them! It’s an easy way to get your business directly into the hands of our car show participants. 🚗

Drop them off at the Chamber office, or message us and we’ll come pick them up!

My heart hurts for our neighbors in Du Quoin.

Yesterday’s devastating fire resulted in the loss of three local businesses
These places built were through years of hard work, dedication, and service to their community.

As a Chamber, we know that a small business is so much more than a building. It represents livelihoods, families, employees, dreams, and a piece of the community it calls home.

To the business owners, employees, families, first responders, and everyone in Du Quoin affected by yesterday’s fire - your neighbors in Benton and West City are thinking of you and standing with you.

Small towns show up for one another. When one of our neighboring communities hurts, we all feel it. ❤️
