Some losses are felt far beyond the radio.

Today, we mourn the loss of Captain Kelley and stand alongside his family, the Benton County Sheriff’s Office, and the Centerton Police Department during this difficult time.

We were honored to answer his calls, watch his back from behind the headset, and support him in serving our community. Thank you for your service, your leadership, and your unwavering commitment to those you protected.

Rest easy. We have your watch from here.

Our law enforcement family is mourning the loss of a truly remarkable man.

After many years of dedicated service, Chris Kelley, a longtime Deputy Sheriff with the Benton County Sheriff's Office, (Reserve Lieutenant), and Captain with the Centerton Police Department, has passed away.

He was more than a badge and a uniform. He was a respected leader, a trusted mentor, a loyal friend, a devoted husband, and a servant to his community. His kindness, wisdom, and unwavering commitment to others left a lasting impact on everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.

He led with integrity, treated people with respect, and earned the admiration of colleagues, friends, and community members alike. His legacy will live on through the countless lives he touched throughout his career and beyond.

Our thoughts and prayers are with his family, friends, and all who served alongside him during this difficult time.

Thank you for your service, your friendship, and the example you set for so many. You will be deeply missed, but never forgotten.

Rest easy, brother. We have the watch from here.

A major winter storm is expected this weekend. Please take a few minutes now to prepare and stay safe.

Before you travel:
• Avoid unnecessary travel if possible
• Slow down and increase following distance
• Bridges and overpasses freeze first
• Keep your gas tank at least half full
• Pack an emergency kit (blanket, water, flashlight, charger)

If you’re driving and start to slide:
• Do NOT slam on brakes
• Ease off the accelerator
• Steer gently in the direction of the skid

If you become stranded:
• Stay with your vehicle
• Turn on hazard lights
• Run your car intermittently for heat (ensure the exhaust pipe is clear)
• Call for help

When to call 911:
☎️ Life-threatening emergencies
☎️ Injury accidents
☎️ Medical emergencies
☎️ Situations where immediate help is needed

❗ For non emergency situations, please use the non emergency line when available. We have a busy call volume weekend ahead of us. This helps keep 911 lines open for true emergencies.

Our dispatchers, deputies, fire, and EMS will be working around the clock to keep our community safe. Thank you for doing your part by preparing ahead and driving cautiously.

Stay safe, stay warm, and look out for one another!

Just when the kids thought the day couldn’t get any better… the GRINCH showed up and tried to steal all their presents! 😱 Luckily, these sharp kiddos caught him before he made his getaway… The Grinch made the kind (and smart) choice to apologize, return the gifts, and even sweeten the deal with some candy. 🍬😉
