The Benwood-McMechen Housing Authority was honored to meet with Joe DeFelice, Assistant Deputy Secretary (ADS) for Field Policy and Management signed and committed to the Work & Dignity Coalition.

Bringing 14 Public Housing Authorities from across West Virginia together under one shared vision is an incredible milestone. This kind of unified front shows exactly what our state is capable of when we team up to expand opportunities and support those we serve. It put West Virginia's PHA leadership squarely on the national map.

ADS DeFelice also shared our progress directly with Ben Hobbs, Assistant Secretary for Public and Indian Housing at HUD. He was incredibly excited to hear about West Virginia's massive commitment and absolutely loved seeing the photos of everyone from the signing event on July 28, 2026.
