Frankfort Beach was re-sampled the morning of September 3rd, 2026, and is now Level 1 – for full body contact. With the updated results, all Benzie and Leelanau County monitored beaches have reported satisfactory water quality.

Weekly Benzie and Leelanau Beach Report:
All beaches in the report are at Level 1 for full body contact, except Frankfort Beach.

Frankfort Beach showed E. coli levels of 488 colonies per 100 milliliters, which places it at Level 2. At this level, wading, fishing, and boating are allowed, but contact above the waist is not advised.
