A big thank you to Insomnia Cookies for taking the initiative to celebrate Madison Southern High School by generously donating cookies for their teachers and staff!! Insomnia Cookies invited BPD to help deliver the treats and we were happy to be part of such a thoughtful gesture.

We are proud of all our local schools, students, and educators. Each plays an important role in making our community stronger. This is what community is all about; local businesses, schools, and first responders coming together to support one another and celebrate success!!

Berea Street Crimes have been conducting an investigation into a Mr. William Roark, who has been suspected of selling narcotics in the Berea area.

On 09/24/2026, Street Crimes conducted a traffic stop on Mr. Roark and located a bag of suspected Methamphetamine weighing approximately 938 grams(2.07lbs). Also located was a small amount of suspected Ma*****na, a glass pipe and 31 blue pills suspected to be Diazepam.

Mr. Roark was placed under arrest and transported to the Madison County Detention Center. He was charged with Trafficking Methamphetamine, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Trafficking Controlled Substance 3rd Degree and Possession of Ma*****na.

Subject is innocent until proven guilty in the court of law.

We would like to thank the Madison County Sheriff’s Office, Kentucky State Police and ATF Lexington for their assistance in this case.

We take our duties to protect the citizens in our community from harmful drugs and drug traffickers very seriously and will continue our efforts in this endeavor.

Huge shoutout to the students and staff at Madison Southern High School for their outstanding test scores! Your hard work and dedication deserve to be celebrated, and we’re proud of your accomplishments!!

There is no active emergency. We’re simply joining in on the celebration and helping recognize these students for a job well done. Sometimes the lights and sirens are for good news!!

Berea Street Crimes have been conducting an investigation into Ms. Valentina Frymyer, who has been suspected of selling narcotics in the Berea area.

On 09/22/2026, Street Crimes conducted a traffic stop on Ms. Frymyer and suspected drug and drug paraphernalia was located on her person. Detectives located approximately 220 grams of suspected Methamphetamine, two small bags of suspected Fentanyl, suspected Methadone powder, various controlled substance pills and $790 in US Currency.

Ms. Frymyer was placed under arrest and transported to the Madison County Detention Center. She was charged with Trafficking Methamphetamine, Trafficking Fentanyl, two counts of Trafficking Controlled Substance 1st Degree greater than 10 units, Trafficking 2nd Degree greater than 20 units, three counts of Trafficking Controlled Substance 3rd Degree greater than 20 units but less than 120 units, Tampering with Physical Evidence, Assault 3rd on a Peace Officer and Careless Driving.

Subjects are innocent until proven guilty in the court of law.

We would like to thank the Richmond Police Department for their assistance in this case.

💜 October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month! 💜

In partnership with our local domestic violence shelter, Hope’s Wings, we’re shining a light on domestic violence, raising awareness, and showing support for survivors. Together, we can spread hope, encourage healing, and remind those affected that they are never alone.

Our K-9 family is growing! K-9 Buddy is getting a new four-legged friend as we prepare to welcome a drug detection K-9 to the family. While Buddy’s job is making people smile, providing comfort, and occasionally reminding us that belly rubs are an important part of police work, our newest K-9 will have a different mission!

This new K-9 will provide our officers with another valuable tool as we continue working to combat the drug epidemic, disrupt the illegal drug trade, and keep dangerous drugs out of our community.

We’re excited to welcome our newest team member and look forward to introducing them to the Berea community soon. We’re pretty sure Buddy is already planning the welcome party!!

Today, we stand with our brothers and sisters with the Kentucky State Police as they mourn the loss of Trooper Hayden Phillips.

Trooper Phillips made the ultimate sacrifice while serving the Commonwealth. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family, loved ones, and fellow troopers during this incredibly difficult time.

From our family at Berea Police Department to the KSP family, we stand with you. His service and sacrifice will never be forgotten.

Rest easy, Trooper Phillips.

Today, we face one of the most difficult moments an agency can endure as we announce the loss of one of our own. Trooper Hayden Phillips, Unit 369, made the ultimate sacrifice while
patrolling I-65 in Warren County. He was assigned to Post 3 Bowling Green and was a graduate of Cadet Class 103. His dedication to duty and commitment to the commonwealth will not
be forgotten.
Our hearts break for Trooper Phillips’ family, loved ones, and fellow troopers as we grieve this tremendous loss. We will carry his memory with us, honor the life he lived and the badge he wore, and stand together as an agency to support this family in the days ahead.

Berea Street Crimes received information that a Mr. Marcis Williams is selling Fentanyl in the area of Berea and Richmond.

On 06/04/2026, drug detectives conducted a traffic stop on Mr. Williams and his girlfriend Ms. Heather Gale. Deputy Kermeen with the Madison County Sheriff’s Department arrived on scene with K9 Spike and alerted to the odor of narcotics coming from the vehicle.

Detectives located approximately 70 grams of Fentanyl along with 12 Gabapentin pills, 58 suspected Ecstasy pills and a small amount of Ma*****na. Both Mr. Williams and Ms. Gale were placed under arrest and transported to the Madison County Detention Center.

They were both charged with Aggravated Trafficking Fentanyl, Trafficking Controlled Substance 1st Drug greater than 10 units, Trafficking 3rd Drug less than 20 units and Possession of Ma*****na.

Both are innocent until proven guilty in the court of law.
