ENJOY RETIREMENT:

Congratulations to Ptl. Gute on his retirement from the Berea Police Department after 34 years of service. Pt. Gute has filled countless roles within the department during his service. Some of those roles include Detective, bicycle officer, community engagement officer, range officer, defensive tactics instructor, and he most recently spent the past 8 years as the School Resource Officer at Berea High School and the new Berea Midpark High School. We recently shared the Berea City School District post thanking Ptl. Gute, but we wanted to post one of our own! You will be missed and we look forward to seeing you in the future!

School Busses Are Back!
Schools are starting back up for the year and it's important to know when you need to stop for a school bus and when you don't.
On a two or three lane roads, drivers on both sides of the roadway must stop when a bus is dropping off or picking up students. On roads with four or more lanes, drivers driving in the opposite direction of the bus do not have to stop.

SRO Caddell shared some sad news that his retired police K9, Kuper, passed away last week. SRO Caddell previously served with the CMHA Police Department prior to joining Berea. Kuper was his partner for a number of years when SRO Caddell worked for CMHA. Kuper and SRO Caddell even marched in one of Berea's parades during that time, so many in our community knew him. Kuper served alongside SRO Caddell for many years before he enjoyed a well-earned retirement with SRO Caddell and his family. Thank you Kuper for many years of faithful service to the citizens of our area.
