This week, fire departments from Berea, Madison County, Richmond ,Nicholasville, Frankfort and Shelbyville came together right here in Berea to have a trench rescue class! A little rain won’t keep us from bettering ourselves to serve our communities.

Bridging the Gap First Responders Summer Camp 2026 sign ups are underway!! The camp will be July 13th - July 17th.

If you have any middle schoolers(6th/ 7th) that want to participate this year, you can pick up an application at the Berea Police Department window at Berea City Hall and it’s posted in the comments.

On Thursday, April 23rd, Berea College Forestry will be doing a prescribed burn near the area of the pinnacles. Smoke may be seen in the area from the intersection of Highway 21/Berea Bypass and Indian Fort Theatre. Do not be alarmed as this is a controlled burn.

Madison County 911 is ready to answer your call 24/7 and get you the help you need. We cannot do what we do without their hard work and support. The Easter bunny brought us some new toys! Thanks to for supplying us with the new thermal imaging cameras. These cameras will help us see through the smoke so we can locate victims and find the fire easier and faster. Another step in the direction of a safer Berea!
