Ms. Fulton's Spanish class enjoyed a Duolingo Fiesta last Friday! In January, students started a 2026 Duolingo challenge. They were challenged to keep a Duolingo streak (5 minutes of practice every day) for as long as they could. Friday, they celebrated their hard work. ¡Buen trabajo, abejas!

On June 10th, 2026, Byron-Bergen senior Katherine Rogoyski committed to continuing her formal education after graduation at Ithaca College where she will compete in Indoor and Outdoor Track and Field. The official signing was witnessed by Byron-Bergen Varsity Track Coach Nick Muhlenkamp and Rogoyski’s family.

“Kat has worked incredibly hard over the last few years,” said Muhlenkamp. “She has truly become an expert pole vaulter, and it is common to see her coaching and working with younger vaulters both from B-B and other schools. We are very proud of her for her accomplishments and look forward to seeing her future successes.”

While at Byron-Bergen, Rogoyski participated in Cross Country, Indoor Track and Field, and Outdoor Track and Field, competing at the varsity level since 7th grade and acting as captain for all three teams the past three years. She holds seven Byron-Bergen school records, was named a Section V Champion 6 times, a four-time League All-Star, 3-time League Champion, 2026 Genesee Region Field Athlete of the Year, and 2-time MVP Award recipient. In 2024, she finished 9th in the state in the 3200 relay team and 8th in Pole Vault at the NYS Championships. In 2025, finished 4th in the state in pole vault at the NYS Championships. In 2026, she set a new personal best in pole vault, clearing 11’5” at the NY State Championships Qualifier and placed 3rd at NY State Championships.

She also participates in Ski and Snowboard Club, Yearbook Club, SADD Club, Band, Student Council, Class of 2026, Math League, Girls State, and National Honor Society.
“I would like to thank my coaches, parents, and teammates for their constant support and love,” said Rogoyski.

Rogoyski plans to study Advertising, Public Relations, Marketing, Communications and Graphic Design.

Enjoy some highlights from Fun in the Sun Day and the Elementary School Olympics! After the traditional parade of countries and torch hand off, this year presented by junior runner Rena Wilson, representatives from Student Council opened the games with the Oath of Sportsmanship and students in UPK through Grade 5 enjoyed the sunshine and some friendly competition. Great work, Bees!

On Tuesday, June 9th, the 4th Grade Band and Chorus closed out the 2026 Spring Concert Series.
Under the baton of Bob Lancia, the 4th Grade Band demonstrated a proper instrumental warm-up to the audience before launching into pep band favorite, “Let’s Go Bees” by Albert Ahronheim. They followed it with multilayered “High Adventure” by Paul Lavender and closed with an enthusiastic rendition of classic rock anthem “We Will Rock You” by Freddy Mercury, arranged by Mr. Lancia.

The Chorus, under the direction of Karen Tischer, came out strong with the energetic “I Love Rock and Roll Medley” arranged by Greg Gilpin and the feel-good favorite “Get Back Up Again” from Trolls by Justin Paul and Ben Pasek, arranged by Mac Huff. They closed out the evening with “Party Rock Anthem” by Skyler and Stefan Gordy, David Listenbee, and Peter Schroeder, arranged by Mark Brymer, leaving many audience members tapping their feet and raising the roof.

Congratulations, musicians!
