IMPORTANT UPDATE FOR BERGENFIELD PARENTS & STUDENTS FROM THE BERGENFIELD PUBLIC SCHOOL DISTRICT

“BELL-TO-BELL” CELL PHONE RESTRICTIONS

Beginning with the 2026–2027 school year, Bergenfield Public Schools will implement new “Bell-to-Bell” cell phone restrictions in accordance with New Jersey law.

From the opening bell until dismissal, students will not be permitted to use personal internet-enabled devices during the school day, including during class, lunch, recess, study halls, and passing periods.

The restrictions include:
📱 Cell phones
⌚ Smartwatches and smart glasses
🎧 AirPods, wireless earbuds, and Bluetooth headphones
💻 Tablets and similar personal devices

Students may still bring these devices to school, but they are expected to be turned off and stored in a backpack, locker, or other bag throughout the entire school day.

Exceptions will apply when required by law, including approved accommodations and emergency circumstances.

We are deeply saddened by the catastrophic flooding in Nepal and Tibet, which has claimed hundreds of lives and left more than 1,400 people missing, including American tourists.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the victims and their families, those who remain missing, and all individuals and communities displaced by this devastating tragedy.
