The best AANHPI Heritage Month celebration right here in Bergenfield! 🌏💙

Today, I had the pleasure of speaking to the students of Hoover Elementary School as they celebrated the rich cultures, traditions, and contributions of Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander communities.

From UMA Taekwondo demonstrations to student performances, cultural presentations, music, and dance, our scholars showed us that diversity is one of Bergenfield’s greatest strengths.

Thank you to Principal William H. Fleming, the teachers, staff, students, and families for an incredible program.

And of course, I proudly wore my Filipino Barong Tagalog, a traditional formal shirt.

Celebrate Flag Day & Continue the Celebration of America’s 250th Anniversary in Bergenfield!

Join the Borough of Bergenfield, the Bergenfield Elks Lodge #1477, and the Bergenfield Museum on Sunday, June 14th as we celebrate Flag Day and continue the celebration of America’s 250th Anniversary.

The ceremony will begin with a Flag Raising at 1:00 PM at the Bergenfield Museum, followed by a gathering at Cooper’s Pond.

Cooper’s Pond has long been a treasured part of Bergenfield’s history, serving as a reminder of the community’s earliest days as chair factory and the natural beauty that has connected generations of residents. It is a place where Bergenfield’s past and present come together.

Just a stone’s throw away, the historic South Presbyterian Church graveyard holds the resting places of Revolutionary War soldiers whose spirit of patriotism still echoes through the centuries. Their sacrifices helped forge a nation founded on liberty and self-government, and their legacy continues to inspire us today.

As our nation celebrates its 250th birthday, we invite residents of all ages to join us in honoring the American flag, reflecting on our shared history, and celebrating the enduring ideals that unite us as a community and a country.

We look forward to seeing you there!

Today, I had the pleasure of joining Dr. Dolly Martinez in celebrating one year of business in Foster Village.

Thank you to Dr. Martinez and Tropical Juice Bar for being strong supporters of the Mayor’s Wellness Campaign and our Bergenfield community.

Small businesses are the heart of our borough, and we are grateful for all that Tropical Juice Bar brings to our residents.

🎶 This week was extra special for our students across the Bergenfield School District.

Did you know Mr. Grass has conducted more than 200 concerts since 2001? Tonight marked his final concert before retirement, closing an incredible chapter that inspired generations of young musicians.

Even more touching was seeing his mother, Mrs. Grass, who attended nearly every one of those concerts. 💙

A special thank you to Principal Thomas Lawrence, Mr. Lavery, Mrs. Quirk, Dr. Sassi, Mr. Grass, and all of our dedicated teachers and staff who help nurture our students' talents every day.

We were especially proud to watch our son, Andrew, perform with his fellow 4th- and 5th-graders in both the orchestra and the choir.

Congratulations to all of our students participating in Spring Concerts this week.
