FUN FACT FRIDAY 📢🏓

Did you know that Berkeley Heights Recreation's Table Tennis program is led by an instructor with more than 40 years of playing experience and 30 years of teaching experience?

For over a decade, Howard Lee has shared his passion for the sport through Recreation classes and tournaments. As a member of the United States Table Tennis Association, a former 2305-rated player, and a multiple-time YSTTA tournament champion, Howard brings a tremendous amount of experience to every session.

FUN FACT FRIDAY! 🎶☀️

Did you know that hundreds of people enjoy our Summer Concert Series each year?

More than just great music, our concerts feature food trucks, sponsor tables, a bounce house, airbrush tattoos, and fun for the whole family. It's one of our favorite summer traditions!

A special thank you to The Park for partnering with us and to all of our sponsors for helping make these free community events possible.

TEEN SCENE SHIRT PICKUP REMINDER!

Teen Scene starts soon, and all participants are required to wear an official Teen Scene shirt on every trip.

★ One shirt is included with each week's registration
★ Shirts from previous Teen Scene summers may also be worn
★ Shirts must be picked up at the Recreation Office before June 12

Families should have received an email on Friday with important information regarding: required waivers where applicable, shirt pickup details, & weekly communication through Remind

Please check your email and stop by the Recreation Office as soon as possible to pick up your participant's required shirt. We can't wait for another great summer of Teen Scene adventures! ☀️🚌😎

Due to the forecasted weather, the start of the Memorial Day Parade has been moved to 10:00 AM. While this was a difficult decision, the parade must go on!

We invite the entire community to continue this wonderful tradition with us and join us following the parade at Veterans Memorial Park for free hot dogs, drinks, and ice pops. 🇺🇸

Big things are happening at the Lower Courts! 💡🎾

Starting Monday, June 1, new underground wiring will be installed to bypass the old system and bring the lights back to the courts — fully funded by the Recreation Commission.

A huge thank you to everyone for your patience as we continue improving our community spaces! Wishing everyone a safe and happy Memorial Day weekend, and don’t forget to join us at the parade! 🇺🇸

Join us as our community comes together to honor and remember the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country.

📍 Memorial Day 2026
🕤 Step-off at 9:30 AM sharp
🎖️ Parade concludes at Veterans Memorial Park

We hope to see families, friends, neighbors, and community groups lining the streets and marching with pride as we remember those who served.

🎉 FUN FACT FRIDAY 🎉

Did you know the Recreation Department partners with local Boy Scouts working toward their Eagle Scout rank to help improve our community?

From park enhancements to community improvement projects, Scouts work with our Associate Recreation Director, Carolyn George, to brainstorm ideas that meet the needs of the town. The Recreation Department then helps guide projects through the planning process by coordinating with township departments and ensuring all work meets necessary codes and requirements.

🇺🇸 Memorial Day is approaching fast in Berkeley Heights! 🇺🇸

Join us on Memorial Day 2026 as we come together to honor and remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice.

Our parade will step off at 9:30 AM sharp and will conclude at Veterans Memorial Park (pictured), where we’ll gather as a community and share some light refreshments.

🎖️ Want to march in the parade? We’d love to have you!
Local groups, organizations, teams, and community members are all encouraged to participate.
